Vitamin Sea @ the Quay

This week we’re looking forward to meeting people and sharing our sea influenced artwork at the Vitamin Sea event at The Quay Arts, Newport Isle of Wight this Sunday, 5th September. It’s a mini festival for outdoor swimmers aimed at sharing, entertaining and educating, with a focus on safe sea swimming. We’ve a stall selling original artwork, hats and badges – we really hope those local to the Island will come and say hello!

Swim The Wight have teamed up with Quay Arts and the Isle of Wight Distillery (makers of Mermaid Gin!) to bring you an original way to spend an evening in September.

Whether you are an ardent cold water fanatic or are simply considering swimming in the sea for the first time, you need to be there!

With support from Outdoor Swimmer magazine and endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh, this is going to be an exciting evening of talks, films and socialising.

You’ll come away with facts, inspiration and perhaps some swimming gear or gifts for yourself or a swim buddy.

Swim The Wight (patron Keri-Anne Payne) is a social interest company, set up to promote safe and inclusive swimming on the Isle of Wight, offering support to those who need help accessing the sea. By supporting this event you will be supporting our mission to get more people of all abilities and backgrounds into the water in a safe and enjoyable way.

Talks from:

Dr Heather Massey – Cold water swimming and the effects on the body; RNLI – Tides and currents; Dr Roger Herbert, Marine Biologist – Flora & Fauna; Southern Water – Water quality; Jenny Ball – Local swimming celebrity.”
